FLAT SIDECASE LIDS. For the K1600GT, K1600GTL, R1200RTLC and R1250RT aka “City Lids”
These lids from the German company Hornig are intended to offer increased urban mobility. No more trouble in traffic. They wished to reduce the original suitcase's thickness for an easier driving between cars in urban areas.
Thickness: Original BMW lid 17cm vs. 6cm suitcase flat lid, reducing of 11 cm (appx 4 ¼” each)
The total motorcycle width reduction is 22 cm (appx 8 ½”)
Made out of glass-reinforced plastic.
Sold as a pair (for left and right side), includes stainless steel brackets, keep the original security belt, foam sealed against dust and water.
Color: glossy black (They can be sanded and prepped for paint if you want to paint match to your bike. Please price out the cost of paint work with a local autobody/paint shop… when you purchase, if you plan on having them painted)
These lids come "paint ready"... they will need minor to major prep work for painting. The lids will have various marks and scratching in the "paint ready" appearance. Please order with this understanding.
This kit is in gloss black, installed photos show a flat black version (the flat black is not currently available, images where of a pre-production kit)
